Marka Bullock, a widely sought-after willow basket teacher, will be traveling from her family’s permaculture farm on Orcas Island to share the art of willow basketry with us here in the Ozarks. She will bring her knowledge and experience with the beautiful heritage craft and skillfully guide participants through the process of three different basket projects - join us for one, or all three! 😀

Round Gathering Basket

In this workshop, you will practice making a round base , 3 and 4 rod wale , French randing, 5 rod border and a wrapped handle.

This workshop will give you the foundation to work on many other types of shapes and sizes of baskets.

Oval Garden/Shopper

This workshop is for students who have already made a round basket. In this workshop, you will learn how to make an oval base, set your up rights with a 4 rod wale, flare your sides with 3 rod wale, French Rand , 5 rod border and a wrap handle.

In this workshop, we will study Catalan base and focus on shaping as we weave the false foot, 4 rod wale, French Rand. Zigzag Rand and slewing.

We will add decorative herring bone 3 rod wale and finish with a 4 rod border.
