PAPER & BOOK ARTS FULL PROGRAM - $2500

  • 3 Weeks

Our program is designed to prepare you for a practice in the pursuit of handmade paper and books. This craft connects us to our human lineage of transmitting information, sharing ideas and art, recording our stories and history, inspiring our future, and cultivating hand skills.

Wild Arts Handmade Paper

PAPER

  • 5 Days

Make handcrafted paper with different plant fibers, learning how to process both wild and commercially availabile fibers, size, use stencils and marble.

BOOKBINDING & BOX MAKING

  • 5 Days

Learn to make several types of books, including softcover stitched pocket journals and hardcover journals with both Coptic stitch and cased-in methods and how to make your own book cloth.

LEATHER & TOOLING

  • 3 Days

Dive into the art of creating leather-bound books with impressions, carvings and stamping. Our leather is responsibly sourced and vegetable tanned.

BINDING REPAIR & RESTORATION

  • 2 Days

Use your skills to bring new life into damaged books. Whether for sentimental value, historic preservation, or the simple joy of it, reviving the structural integrity of a book is an art unto itself.
