Plant Medicine with Heather Duff
Join us for a day of learning how to incorporate plants into your daily health and wellness practice
Service Description
Herbalist and birth doula Heather Duff will share two of her most popular classes: Plant Medicine: The Basics and Plant Medicine: Ozarks Intensive. This event dives into 15 plants generally and commonly used as medicine and 15 plants that are specific to the Ozarks. Participants will learn herbal principles in healing and Heather will cover a variety of common ailments with their traditional plant remedies. She will teach the principles of how to safely make tinctures and salves, allowing participants to create one of each to take home. In the second half of the day, the focus will shift to Ozark-specific plants that can be easily found and sustainably foraged all around us in this region. Heather will cover historic and indigenous uses of these plants and teach participants how to make poultices and teas. Each person will have the opportunity to blend a tea specific to their individual wellness goals and create a first aid salve. There will be time for Q&A and discussion at the end of each class segment to discuss areas of interest and concern and participants will go home with four herbal products.
