A sharp knife is a safer knife! Have you ever wondered how to sharpen your own knives safely and effectively, at home? Now is your chance! Bring your knives and learn from expert sharpener Richard Herman how to sharpen and maintain your knives for everyday use. His expertise comes from sharpening knives for over 30 years and is also the person responsible for sharpening all of the implements at the Baker Creek Seymour location! Richard will guide participants in how to use a whetstone and how to make a simple DIY knife sharpening block with sandpaper. He will provide step-by-step instructions on how to use them both properly with wet and dry techniques. Participants will go home when their own whetstone. These techniques will translate from knives to other implements like pruning shears, so feel free to bring all the different tools you need to learn about. This workshop is hosted at the Wild Arts Learning studio in Springfield, MO, just out east Sunshine, around the bend from Turners Station. Drinks + snacks provided, address emailed upon booking.
