Wild Arts Learning Center

Service Description

In this workshop, you will learn about the paper-making process and make your own! We will work with cattail fiber, regular paper from the recycle bin, and a slurry of mixed fibers so you have three different types of paper to compare. After this workshop, you will know how to handcraft your own paper at home, what tools are needed and what fibers you might like to work with or experiment with so you can continue exploring the process. You will also have the opportunity to add color or other decorative elements like flower petals to your sheets. When finished, you will go home with a set of large and small sheets of paper. The sheets will either need to sit in the dehydrator for a bit here at the studio, or you will take them wet and let them dry at home. Come with clothes and shoes that can possibly get wet and or dirty as the materials can splash. This is a great workshop for adults and kids! If you are planning to drop off your youngster, the minimum age is 12. Youngers need to be accompanied by an adult simply because this is an adult/kid mixed workshop. This workshop is hosted at the Wild Arts Learning Center in Springfield, MO, just out east Sunshine and around the bend from Turner's Station. Address will be emailed upon booking.
