Service Description
Two Workshops in One! $65 Join us for an afternoon of handcrafted papermaking with plants and mushrooms! In the first part of our workshop, you will learn from Cara Snyder of WildWise Botanicals about mushroom fibers, what mushrooms to look for in our area and how to process them. Next, Cina Canada of Wild Arts Learning will demonstrate how to prepare and process a variety of plant fibers. Once we have our pulp from both mushroom and plant fibers, participants will have an opportunity to make individual sheets of paper with both materials. Because the paper must hang to dry for several hours, even overnight, you will have the option to come back the next day for your specific paper, or use the “make one, take one” option. This is great for those coming in from out of town. We will have some pre-made sheets available, but you will need to note this option upon booking, and at least one week prior to our workshop, to ensure we have enough pre-made paper for those who go with this choice. Please wear clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting wet, or even bring an apron! While we do our best to keep you dry, paper-making can be a very sloppy project. 😀
