KIDS-Nature Journal Class, 3 Part Series
Helping kids discover new ways of seeing, appreciating & documenting the natural world around them.
Service Description
Have you ever wondered how to help your child learn about nature journaling, what it is, and how to do it? This workshop series is for you! Nature journaling offers an easy gateway to explore important life skills like observation, seeing vs looking, how to record experiences, finding details, self-expression and learning how to ask meaningful questions. When we stimulate curiosity, learn to reflect on our experiences in nature, and learn how to express those in words and pictures, we also nurture a finer sensitivity to the world around us. In this 3 part session, students will bind their own journals with hand-stitched papers, learn easily accessible drawing and painting techniques, learn about and practice writing skills and discover new skills that will open a whole new world of learning. We want kids to experience the natural world, not just move through it, and nature journaling can be a worthwhile way to promote that goal.
